Using an equity lens, JIC Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization based in Mount Vernon, New York, will provide career coaching and career navigation services. We believe in the responsibility of offering coaching, and mentoring services that will equip our youth (ages 8-25) with the necessary tools and strategies that will adequately prepare them for job and career opportunities of which they will seek. This includes, but is not limited to, résumé writing and interviewing workshops, professional etiquette training, and mentoring support, which will give our youth the advantages they need to succeed.

 

Workshops and trainings provided will also include choosing the right career path based on interests, confidence building, and self-empowerment activities, such as practicing mindfulness (i.e., yoga, meditation) journaling (using a goals-oriented lens), and reframing our thoughts, using positive self-talk strategies, boosting one’s self-confidence.
